AMC stock forecast as it crosses key resistance amid two key tailwinds

AMC Entertainment stock has gone parabolic since April, moving from the year-to-date low of $0.9291 to $3.30 today. It has already formed a golden cross pattern, pointing to further gains, helped by two major tailwinds: debt refinancing and revenue growth.

AMC Entertainment stock is soaring amid debt refinancing

The main catalyst for the rally is that the company has announced a $3.9 billion debt refinancing package that extends the maturity dates of its existing loans. By doing that, the company will focus on turning around its business without putting much emphasis on debt repayments.

The loans in this package are an $850 million first-lien term loan, a second-lien term loan worth $1.1 billion, and a new $2 billion first-lien loan due in 2031. By doing this, the company gets two extra years to handle its debt and gives it money to buy back existing debt.

AMC is a highly indebted company, with over $3.7 billion in long-term debt and capital leases worth over $3.2 billion. Its total liabilities have fallen to $9.4 billion, down from over $12.6 billion in 2022.

Growth is accelerating

The ongoing improvements are coming at a time when the company’s growth is continuing, helped by some of the top blockbusters. The most notable ones are Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey, Toy Story, Michael, and Pegasus 3.

On the other hand, some of the movies expected to do well this year are The Hunger Games, Street Fighter, Avengers, and Jumanji.

These numbers mean that the company’s revenue growth will continue in the near term. The average estimate among analysts is that its revenue will by 13.2% to $1.47 billion. Its annual revenue is expected to jump by 14.8% to $5.57 billion, followed by $5.8 billion last year.

The most recent results showed that its second-quarter revenue rose by 14.2% to $1.59 billion, bringing its first-half figure to $2.64 billion. In his statement, Adam Aron, the CEO and big investor, said:

“In our 106-year history, never before has AMC had such superb results. In the second quarter of 2026, AMC reported higher quarterly revenue and higher quarterly Adjusted EBITDA than in any quarter in more than a century.”

The daily chart shows that AMC shares have staged a strong comeback in the past few months. This rebound happened after the stock bottomed out at $0.9291 in August.

It formed a golden cross pattern on July 28 as the 50-day and 200-day moving averages crossed each other. Also, it has moved above the crucial resistance level of $2.95, the upper side of the ascending triangle pattern.

AMC has also remained above the Ichimoku cloud and the Supertrend indicators. Therefore, the path of the least resistance is upward, with the next key target to watch being at $3.60, its highest level on July 21. A move above that level will point to more gains towards $4.08, its highest level on May 28.
