CZ Attends Nasdaq Bell Ceremony as World’s Largest…

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao attended a Nasdaq opening-bell ceremony on October 26, 2026, as BNB Standard Corporation celebrated its rebranding and leadership changes while promoting its position as the world’s largest publicly traded corporate holder of BNB.

The event took place at Nasdaq MarketSite in New York’s Times Square, with chief executive Alex Odagiu officially ringing the opening bell alongside company executives and board members.

Representatives from YZi Labs and BNB Chain also attended. BNB Standard, formerly known as CEA Industries, adopted its new corporate name on September 29 while retaining its Nasdaq ticker, BNC.

The ceremony marked the company’s strategic transition toward digital asset treasury management rather than an initial public offering or new exchange listing. BNB Standard disclosed holdings of 515,544 BNB, acquired for approximately $446.5 million, representing roughly 93% of its reported assets.

At Monday’s market prices, those holdings were worth approximately $384 million, below their aggregate acquisition cost.

BNB Standard Plans to Build Validator Business

BNB Standard’s strategy extends beyond accumulating BNB, the native cryptocurrency of BNB Chain. Speaking at the ceremony, Odagiu said the company intends to establish an operating business within the blockchain ecosystem, beginning with its own validator.

Validators participate in blockchain consensus and transaction processing, potentially earning rewards for helping secure the network. Operating a validator could provide BNB Standard with recurring cryptocurrency-denominated income alongside changes in the market value of its treasury.

However, the company has not confirmed that its validator is operational or disclosed expected annual revenue from the proposed activity. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to increase BNB holdings and generate additional value for shareholders.

BNB Standard underwent significant governance changes earlier in 2026 following a dispute involving its largest shareholder, YZi Labs. The disagreement concluded in June with an agreement adding Odagiu, Ella Zhang and Matthew Roszak to the company’s board.

Odagiu, previously associated with YZi Labs, was appointed chief executive on October 19 after serving as interim president. BNB Standard’s shares traded near $5.36 on October 26, according to reporting from The Block, remaining approximately 17% lower for the year despite recent market interest.

The company’s substantial concentration in BNB means its financial position remains closely exposed to cryptocurrency price fluctuations.

CZ Highlights AI and Blockchain Payment Opportunities

Following the ceremony, Zhao discussed potential applications for BNB Chain in artificial intelligence, payments and tokenized financial assets. He suggested that autonomous AI agents could increasingly use cryptocurrencies to settle transactions without relying on traditional payment infrastructure.

Zhao said Bitcoin, stablecoins and potentially new AI-related tokens could serve that purpose, while expressing interest in positioning BNB Chain as a major network for such activity. He also discussed tokenization of computing resources, although he did not announce a specific product or deployment timetable.

On cryptocurrency payments, Zhao acknowledged that the user experience remains complicated compared with established consumer payment systems. He suggested that developers initially focus on underserved markets and expensive cross-border remittance corridors rather than competing directly with established payment platforms in the United States.

The comments reflect broader industry efforts to expand blockchain usage beyond cryptocurrency trading and speculative investment. Nevertheless, Zhao’s attendance does not establish a new investment in BNB Standard or a change in the company’s ownership structure.

Nor does the Nasdaq ceremony indicate regulatory endorsement of BNB or the company’s treasury strategy. For BNB Standard, the immediate challenge is converting its substantial token holdings into an operating business capable of generating sustainable revenue.

Its proposed validator operations offer one potential avenue, although profitability will depend on network conditions, operating costs and BNB market prices. The ceremony underscores growing interaction between publicly traded companies and blockchain ecosystems while highlighting the financial risks associated with concentrated corporate cryptocurrency holdings.
