Uniswap Monthly Trading Volume Surpasses $70B, Exceeding…

Uniswap has processed more than $70 billion in trading volume over the past month, extending its position as the largest decentralised exchange by spot volume.

The protocol said on September 12 that it had handled more volume than the next three DEXs combined, citing DeFiLlama Research data. Contemporary data placed Uniswap’s rolling 30-day volume at approximately $70.6 billion. The comparison is based on a rolling 30-day period rather than a completed calendar month, meaning the exact total changes continuously as new trading activity enters the calculation.

Uniswap Leads Rivals by More Than $25 Billion

At the time of the comparison, PancakeSwap recorded approximately $29.8 billion in 30-day trading volume, while BisonFi generated around $8.9 billion and Meteora roughly $5.9 billion. Together, the three protocols accounted for approximately $44.6 billion, leaving Uniswap ahead of their combined volume by around $26 billion. Most of Uniswap’s trading activity came through its newer protocol versions. Recent DeFiLlama figures attributed close to $38 billion of monthly volume to Uniswap v4 and approximately $32 billion to v3, with smaller contributions from other versions.

Uniswap’s increasingly broad multi-chain presence has also changed where that activity originates. Robinhood Chain accounted for approximately $26 billion of the reported 30-day volume, making it Uniswap’s largest individual blockchain by trading activity during the period, ahead of Ethereum at roughly $23 billion. Base, BNB Chain and Arbitrum contributed additional volume. That distribution is significant because Uniswap began as an Ethereum-native protocol. Its expansion across multiple networks increasingly allows it to capture liquidity and trading activity without depending solely on Ethereum mainnet.

Uniswap Approaches $3.7 Trillion in Lifetime Volume

The latest surge takes Uniswap’s cumulative trading volume since launching in 2018 to nearly $3.7 trillion, further underlining the scale reached by decentralised spot markets. The roughly $70.6 billion rolling-month figure is also substantially above Uniswap’s average monthly volume earlier this year. From January through July 2026, the protocol averaged around $51.1 billion per month, meaning the latest period was approximately 38% higher.

Uniswap’s lead nevertheless applies specifically to the DEX category and dataset used in the DeFiLlama comparison. It should not be interpreted as meaning Uniswap processes more trading than every type of decentralised crypto venue: derivatives-focused platforms, for example, can generate considerably larger notional volumes than spot DEXs. The milestone instead highlights Uniswap’s continuing dominance in decentralised token swaps. Its liquidity network, deployment across multiple blockchains and adoption of v4 have allowed the protocol to widen the gap over major spot-market competitors even as the wider DEX sector has become increasingly fragmented across chains.
